PRESENTATION TOPIC--  Understanding Asset Allocation and the Yield Curve

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW:
Often asset allocation is presented as a fancy strategy with a lot of moving parts. The simple asset allocation strategy focuses on two things: time horizon, and how under- or over-priced risky assets like stocks are.
Often the media talks about interest rates going up or down. What they donít catch is that interest rates only move weakly as a group at present. Why is that, and can it make our fixed income investing decisions better? What other factors do we need to consider in fixed income investing?

Finally, if there is enough time, the talk will cover some simple models for other asset classes.

ATTEND THIS MEETING TO LEARN:
1. A more intuitive way to understand asset allocation
2. How the yield curve moves and how Federal Reserve policy affects it
3. How different types of bonds and bond funds offer ways to make money
