PRESENTATION TOPIC--  End of Year Tax Planning

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW: 
The number one fear retirees have is running out of money. Creating and Preserving your wealth takes more than simple preparation; it takes tax planning. We will show you the difference between using a tax preparer versus using a tax planner. We will cover some of the simple tax reductions strategies you may already know; and some you may not have considered. We will discuss a few advanced strategies that have only recently become widely available. If you have a small business, learn how to properly structure your company and retirement benefits to take advantage of tax code.

Michael Canet 

Speaker Biography:
Michael Canet attended law school at the Catholic University of America. He earned his LL.M in taxation from the University of Baltimore. He is a founding member of Prostatis Financial Advisors Group, with four offices covering Baltimore, Washington and Northern Virginia. Canet is the host of “The Savvy Investor,” a nationally recognized financial planning radio show on WCBM and WRC. He is the author of two Amazon #1 books: “Surviving the Perfect Storm: How to Create a Financial Plan That Will Withstand Any Crisis” (Advantage Media Group, 2012), and “SuccessOnomics” (CelebrityPress, 2014) with Steve Forbes. In 2011, the governor appointed Canet to the State Board of Individual Tax Preparers as a state regulator. He currently sits on the board of Vino Scholastico, a fundraising division of the Scholarship Foundation at Howard Community College.

Charge/Fee: 
$5 per person and per guest with pre-registration before November 28th
$7 per person and per guest with pre-registration after November 28th
$10 per person at-the-door if you are not pre-registered
